With the return of my blog this month also comes the return on my monthly round-up! And hopefully it’ll be an interesting one this month as I have been up to TONNES. The start of this month came with me finishing first year of Uni, while the end comes with me awaiting my results which should appear any day now. So this round-up is to share with you guys what I’ve been up to. 🙂
Finishing First Year:
On 2nd June I sat my final exam – based on Medieval to Renaissance Literature, if anyone’s interested – and with that my first year was officially finished. It was a very eventful year, and one which I thoroughly enjoyed, so the end was quite sad – but also quite happy with the start of Summer! I’ve met so many great people at uni that I know second year will be just as fabulous as the first, and I’m looking forward to moving into a proper house with my friends next year!
If you’ve been reading my blog regularly, you know that just after my exams Gareth and I took the opportunity to go to Slovenia (and if you’re interested, you can read my posts about it here and here). We stayed in Bled, which I’m convinced is the most magical place on Earth. It was a fantastic way to celebrate both me finishing First Year, and Gareth finishing uni and graduating with a First! If you get the chance to go to Slovenia, I 100% recommend you to!
Restarting Go Ask Becki:
Once we got back from Slovenia, I realised that I really missed running my blog, and Summer would be the perfect time to start it up again! I’m really enjoying working on it so far, and I’m hoping I can keep it up into next year!
Just after the end of first year, I found out that my work has been accepted into the ICUR (International Conference of Undergraduate Research), so I’ve been busy working on my research to present in September at Warwick! It’s a fantastic opportunity, and if you’re at Warwick I would definitely recommend applying to it next year as there’s no pressure involved, and they’re always there to help if you need it! It’s also given me something more to do over summer, which is always a plus.
About a week ago, taking advantage of Ryanair’s massive Europe sale, Gareth and I booked to go to Copenhagen for a night! With £25 return tickets it was something I couldn’t pass up on, and I’ve always wanted to explore more of Denmark! It’s something to look forward to in August, so watch out for pictures and blog posts going up about it around then!
